A recent divisional review has resulted in an exciting opportunity for an influential leader to join the People and Culture Division as Manager Risk and Safety at Yarra City Council.

A vital part of the Division, this management position will report directly to the Group Manager People and Culture. The incumbent will pursue branch, divisional and corporate goals through effective team-work across the organisation, and will develop sound working relationships with a range of internal and external parties.

With a focus on establishing an organisational culture of safety commitment and awareness the right candidate will also effectively develop and inculcate a risk management framework identifying and minimising Council’s exposure to known and foreseeable risks.

The right candidate will have proven leadership and management skills and strong political acumen reflecting sound business decision making. Heading up a small team working across the Council, the ability to successfully lead and develop staff at all levels is vital, as well as a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development across the team.
