About the role
Zip Co is a global buy-now-pay-later company operating in 14 markets. As Legal Counsel you'll provide in-house legal support across commercial, regulatory, and product matters. This is a 4-day-per-week role with genuine flexibility on hours — ideal for an experienced lawyer seeking balance without compromise.
What you'll do
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and partnership agreements
- Advise on regulatory compliance across Australian financial services law
- Support product and engineering teams on legal risk and privacy matters
- Manage external counsel relationships and legal spend
- Contribute to the development of legal processes and templates
What you'll bring
- Admitted to practice in Australia with 5+ years of post-admission experience
- Strong commercial law background, ideally with fintech or financial services exposure
- Experience advising on Australian financial services regulation (AFSL, credit law)
- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
How the flexibility works
Part-time — 4 days per week. Hybrid with 2 days in the Melbourne office. Flexible hours within the working week.
